IMAGE – I Manifest A Girl Empowered

It’s not easy for girls coming of age in today’s media-saturated world. In order to develop a healthy sense of self-worth, self-respect, and to emerge from their teen years as strong, happy, and confident young women, girls must learn to successfully navigate peer pressure and negative messages about girlhood and womanhood.

IMAGE is a girls’ empowerment “movement” whose purpose is to substantially reduce delinquency, self-abusive behaviors and low self-esteem of girls.  We feel that it is imperative to identify the risk factors associated with female adolescent problem behaviors, such as failure to complete high school, teen pregnancy and parenting, low self-esteem and prior victimization, to help prevent girls from engaging in delinquent behaviors.

Our mission is to inspire girls to develop a healthy sense of self-worth, confidence, critical thinking and purpose as they prepare and focus on their future goals.
